Founded 15 years ago by the affable yet passionate Richard Howard after travelling extensively throughout Asia and India, the company sources raw materials to create a range of essential oils, face and body products, shampoos, conditioners, and perfumes.
Working globally with the growers and distillers of oils and raw ingredients enables Richard and his team to oversee the manufacture and ensure the quality of Arcania products – something which has seen them placed in some of the world’s most exclusive spas and resorts.
“My focus has always been to create for the individual, and not for a market,” says Richard.
“The beauty industry has been driven by an illusion for the past 70 years. But just as in the food industry, consumers are now being more conscientious and are asking what’s going into the product.”
And for Arcania Apothecary, these raw products are sometimes from family businesses that stretch back generations.
“I have developed relationships with families who have produced these products for generations in an ecological environment. You are not buying an organic certificate. You are buying refined love at source.”
